BES Principal's Message

Melissa Barcomb BES Principal

 Dear Students and Families,

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to our new school year.

I am honored to be the  BES Principal and part of the Beekmantown community.

A new school year can offer so much to a student.  New friendships.  New connections with teachers, counselors, staff. New books to read.  New adventures.  New lessons to learn.   Your student will have many opportunities here at BES for all that I listed and more.  What new endeavors wait for you?

What is grit? Grit is courage and strength of character.  Our students have grit. They have persevered through a great deal of adversity with COVID-19.  Through the use of our PBIS initiatives (Top 20 and Positivity Project), we encourage students to demonstrate the 4 B’s. Be Safe, Be Respectful and Kind, Be Responsible, Be a Problem Solver.  We see their strength of character. daily.  As students go through their elementary career, it is very important to help them develop grit, so they are not only successful here, but in middle school and eventually high school.

I hope that you are excited as I am  for this coming school year.  If you find yourself near the school and want to say hello, feel free to stop by!  I’d love to meet you.  Take care and be safe!

Sincerely,
Melissa Barcomb
